Are You Late for Spring Cleaning?

Most of us always say that we’ll get around to cleaning out that junk drawer, junk closet, and junk room, but how many of us actually make good on our intentions?

The truth is that we’re just too busy to clean and we’re even too busy to keep it up once we do have things in order.

Sure, we could buy closet organizers, but these solutions only work for a week or so and then we’re back to our old patterns of tossing things wherever there is room.

For most of us, the problem is junk, isn’t it?  We just have too much stuff and even less room to put it away.  So, it becomes a pile of mess that gets in our way as we walk around our home or it makes us late for work because we’re digging for some all important paper.

Maybe the better solution is to clean up in small bursts, rather than in longer time frames.  By taking the time to straighten things up for five minutes a day and going through your mail as it comes in, you can reduce a lot of the clutter in your home.

And that’s without any scrubbing or wiping involved.Need more tips to organize your closet? Go here…

If you’ve walked into your home lately and been greeted by something other than your spouse, you might want to think about doing a deeper clean.

When smells begin to arise in your home, it’s often a sign that you have dirt or bacteria build up in your furniture pieces and in your rugs, causing an odor.

For your health and the healthy of everyone else in your home, it’s time to get rid of the stink.

You might want to start by doing a basic cleaning – wiping down surfaces, vacuuming, etc.

This will give you an idea of whether or not the smell is a superficial occurrence or if you need to clean deeper in order to get rid of it.  If this cleaning doesn’t help, try upholstery cleaning next to see if maybe the smell is in your couch or chairs.

At the same time, you might also want to have your carpets cleaned.

If none of these tips help, it might be time to have your water pipes and heating and cooling ducts checked.

There may be something in these systems causing the stink, no matter what you do in response.

While there are fabric refreshers and air deodorizers, it’s always best to find the root of the problem, instead of just covering it up.
