When you finally have the money for a dream home, you want to have all of the right details.
From the railings to the moldings, you want every corner, every room to be exactly as you envision it in your head. That means that you need to look at an awful lot of houses before you can finally say that you found ‘the one.’
Wants and needs are a funny thing when it comes to houses. While you might want to have a fireplace, you really need a good water heater. And while you might want a larger master bedroom, you might need to have enough rooms for the kids. The balance between what you want and what you need can certainly get tricky, can’t it?
Instead of beating your head against a wall, it might be a better idea to just make a list of the things that you really, really want from the dream house. That way, at least you’ll get most of what you want, rather than being disappointed that you don’t have everything that you want.

And in time, you can always add on the things you don’t already have. That’s the fun part anyways, isn’t it?

How many of us are bored to tears by that same old standard wallpaper? Sure, many have decided to do away with the whole concept and stick with painting their walls, or covering their walls with pictures and appliqués but wallpaper is still out there and it’s evolving.
The Light Emitting Wallpaper designed and created by Jonas Samson is receiving rave reviews as the next big thing in both the interior decorating world and the indoor lighting world. As the name may suggest, the wallpaper emits light but instead of an overall dull glow, it does it through intricate patterns.

By using LEDs and manipulating individual pixels, the light emitting wallpaper appears to move creating scenes of wonder. The wallpaper can be turned on or off and consumes very little energy. When in the off mode, the wallpaper appears just like any other ordinary and mundane wall. When on, however, patterns and shapes dance and moves over the walls with light.

The wallpaper can come in a variety of designs and patterns. This innovation promises to open brand new worlds in interior decorating as people choose to do away with traditional light fixtures and switch to the LED technology. What, after all, will we do with those empty side tables and discarded lamps?
Now, for anyone who wants to experiment with the Light Emitting Wallpaper will enjoy the infinite possibilities that this technology presents. Since the wallpaper is, in itself works of art you may want to consider dedicating a wall to it or at least consider taking down some of that wall art to allow the full display to be visible. With all of the talk about the environment, it’s no wonder that more homeowners are looking for small ways to change their home in order to help the earth.
While it might seem like we all need to convert to solar power and start driving hybrids to make the most impact, if we all just took a few small steps, we could be sure to make a difference. Everyone’s small steps add up to giant leaps.
The easiest way to start conserving energy is to change your light bulbs to halogen bulbs. Not only do these bulbs last up to seven years, but they also let you reduce your energy costs.
You can also try to turn the lights off whenever you’re not in the room, as well as unplug any appliances that you’re not using at the time. Even your computer should be shut completely down at night to help reduce energy usage.
You can also look into using only natural bedding fibers, like cotton and bamboo. These resources are renewable, so they don’t take away from the natural resources that are already dwindling. You can also start looking into natural cleaners for your home to reduce the pollution of the ground water.
