The Christmas lights illuminate all hearts

Home

The Christmas lights on Christmas trees were an idea that had Albert Sadacca in 1917. What inspired Albert was a terrible and tragic fire that happened in New York and in which were involved Christmas tree candles.

Albert was 15 years old when suggested their parents his idea. An idea that became into a big electric company, Noma. Since 1920 lights were introduced with many sorts of shapes. They were made in glass bulbs, formed into animal or fruits shapes, and then the bulbs were hand-painted giving a nice colored effect. Christmas lights started to illuminate hearts.

From where come Christmas lights?

In 1882 was lit the first tree by electricity in New York. A colleague of Thomas Edison, Edward Johnson, was who had the wonderful idea lighting the string made by him. The string had 80 small bulbs. In 1890 these strings began to be sold in many stores. In Quebec was placed one of the first and biggest electrically lit Christmas fir. Since then was a nice and important appeal to erect big and wonderfully illuminated Christmas trees next to the mainChristmas lights streetentrances of big stores.

Lights, lights and more lights.

The custom of lighting the outside of homes started in the 1960s. In Austin, Texas, there is a famous street where every Christmas season each house is full decorated with lots lights. By mid-December the 37th street is pretty lighted, thousands of people visit the street every night. The most curious is that nobody organizes this event. Strings of lights are just hanged from a house to another; the neighborhood is involved each December to make their street one of the most beautiful maybe, in the world.

think Christmas time is the most wonderful time of the year for everybody. It is very nice and cheerful to se lights hanging all around. Colored Christmas lights that bring a felling of joy.
