A citronella candle has been used over the years as an insects repellent. It repels insects that normally are public health problem. Amongst them are mosquitoes, flies and fleas. A citronella candle works putting a liquid oil derived from dried cultivated grass works by repelling insects. Citronella candles should be used as many days as possible as it is in a convenient clay pot. We do recommend lighting the candle till the aroma fills the area and afterwards it could be lit off.
Citronella is used for different purposes. Medicinal purposes are common in many countries. The citronella oil has been used to cure headache, colds and  migraine.The major known aim of citronella oil is to repeal mosquitoes. There are so many different types of citronella candle pots, which are decorative and depends on the home's style.
We can found citronella in Sri Lanka. Citronella is a grayish aromatic tall grass. This grass is coarse and the stems are like cane and the oil of citronella is derived by steam distillation of fresh or dried grass. This has been a herbal remedy to repel many insects including the deadly mosquitoes. With a selected candle pot, a citronella candle could be a perfect ornament.
