Grey and Black Modern color Palette for a Kitchen

Combining gray and black with warm wood accents to create a modern yet welcoming kitchen for family and friends to gather.

The thought of an all gray kitchen with black accents would not normally conjure up visions of warm moments spent with family and friends.  But this kitchen has been able to take this very modern color palette and create an inviting space.

The gray painted cabinetry is warmed by the vanilla paint color on the surrounding walls.  This creates a nice contrast to the shiny black countertops and tile backsplash.  In fact, touches of black can be found in other areas such as the range hood and the wall accessories.

The stainless steel of the appliances has been repeated in the cabinetry hardware and the end caps on the legs of the island.  All of these cold colors and surfaces have been warmed by the addition of beautifully grained wood furniture and pops of color introduced through bowls of fruit, colorful artwork and fresh flowers.  The island offers a built-in bookshelf to house cookbooks and a wine rack to store those vintage bottles of vino.

This kitchen proves that the use of an unexpected color combination can result in a warm and welcoming spot for family and friends to enjoy a meal or just share a cup of coffee and a relaxing moment.
