When icicle lights are used we should take some precautions

Icicle lights are a tradition and joy of Christmas holiday season. These wonderful lights use 5 or 7 watts per bulb. It would be nice to consider buying miniature lights, they last more and use less energy, about 70 per cent less than the larger. If the larger lights are switched to 5 watts bulb, they use 30 per cent less energy than if they are switched to 7 to 10 watts bulbs. It is important to avoid leave lights on. For it is recommended the use of an automatic timer. Indoors and outdoors. It has to be rated to handle the total wattage of the icicle lights.

The safety plays an important role. Lights should meet Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Use the suitable lights for indoors and outdoors. Pay attention what the labels say about. Icicle lights are always a wonderful idea when for the first time came out of the box. Then hanging them is too, another nice activity, but the second time we do it can be a little more complicated. They can be attached in gutters or windows frames. Get lathing or not expensive yard sticks. Then cut them with exactly the length of the window or gutter where you want to attach the lights to. There is the possibility of decorating the Christmas tree without icicle lights. You could buy edible ornaments like candy canes, gingerbread men, and strings of cranberries and popcorn. Burning candles around the tree is nice. They provide aroma and a soft light but are very dangerous too. It is heard about many accidents caused by burning candles around Christmas trees. However you decide to decorate your house at Christmas it is very important not forget safety. Candles or icicle lights will always foster the holiday spirit.
