Curtains To Get an Ideal Looking Living Room

The living room is the first place that you will have your guests seeing and that is why the living room curtains play such an important role. They also ensure adequate privacy.

Q: Help! I need some decorating advice for my living room. I have been looking at several different variants of living room curtains and have really liked these brownish grayish curtains. They are just the right kind to offset the white doors and windows treatment in the living room and the light walls.

But, I’m still in a dilemma about whether this color will work for the living room. I have usually seen curtains in shades of reddish brown.

My question is in my guise to be creative I hope I am making the right choice. I want my living room to be able to exude a warm and cozy feel to it.

A: The good thing about living room curtains is that you can get away with anything. Having said that you will want to make sure that the color that you choose for the curtains offsets everything else in the living room too.

The first step is that they could be of the same color palette as the walls around.

This is one of the safest of color schemes to stick to for these curtains.

Another safe bet is not to pick prints for the curtains. When you pick prints it becomes quite difficult to get it in sync with all the other things around in the living room.

The color theme such as beige, maroons, and beige bring about a contemporary and modern feeling. On the other hand rust, browns and grays get a feeling of warmth and welcome. A darker shade for the curtains is always a good idea. This will ensure less cleaning and maintenance and also will be able to withstand the dust well enough.

Keep in mind that the curtains should go ahead and complement the overall theme and at the same time merge with the other things around effortlessly. It should certainly not stand out like an eyesore. You can tie the curtains with darker shades of tassels to let in the sunlight and bring in more color to dress and decorate your windows.
