How an Oak Stair can Certainly be the Way to Success
Read on how an oak stair can add a whole lot of charm and old world refinement to your home.
When you opt for an oak stair you are certainly making the right decision as it will not only bring in the right amount of aesthetics but also the functionality and durability.
We are remodeling our home this summer and have so far agreed on everything or come to a common consensus. What we are stuck on is the staircase that we should have installed. We are really into a wrought iron one. A friend had one in the home that he grew up in and feels that will would be the right one in our home.
However, I feel that an oak stair would add on more charm and finesse. Also, just beneath the staircase we have a small utility room with a door to it painted white and further down a light brown wooden wall unit.
Oh yes, and the flooring has already been decided upon. It is going to be a mixture of hardwood and laminate. Now, my concern is if we agree on a wrought iron staircase instead of the oak one, will it be able to fit in with the decoration.
Having read whatever you had to say and looking at the picture of your home remodeling project in progress (thanks for the image), and very nice banister as well…. we at our end feel that at this point in time the oak stair stands a better chance in your case. There are several reasons for this and most of it was extremely clear from the image.
Besides that, oak as a material is extremely hard and holds up really well to all kinds of wear and tear and yet has that amazing charm to it that one can only get from wood. It is one of the most durable and strong materials to have for a staircase that is bound to have so many footfalls on it.
With just a little bit of maintenance on your part in the form of refinish you will be able to maintain it just as new. You could also use varnish to ensure further protection to the wood from chipping or any damage. The natural color of the oak is a good combination with whites and other shades of brown. The beauty of natural wood grain will certainly be a delight.
