San Pedro cactus

The san pedro cactus is a magical plant and is the oldest one known which comes from South America. It has mescaline a psychoactive component that is an important psycho-actives. Although this cactus contains a little less mescaline than Pepoye cactus, another well-known cactus, the san pedro cactus is much friendlier. It has other psychoactive alkaloids. The mescaline seems to be concentrated in skin, can be peeled dried and made into powder to be consumed.

These cacti can be used in conjunction with other psychoactive plants. Huando, hermoso, aguacolla, cardo cuchuma are some of which are used with san pedro cactus. The use of san pedro cactus as hallucinogenic is ancient and even nowadays is used in Peru as a tradition. The natives boil slices of the stem for some hours, then it has to be cooled and the resulted liquid is drunk.

It is said that mescaline cacti allow exploring the inner fantasy. The subject-object consciousness disappears and the person feels melted away in the sensory perception with indescribable feelings of happiness. During the first hour after consumption the nausea will be less heavy than after the consumption of Pepoye cactus.The san pedro cactus grows still in Ecuador on the highlands on 2000-3000 meters. It grows faster. It has a strong root system and has 4 to 9 ribs. It will continue in nature to grow until falls over under its own weight. Then, the fallen san pedro cactus will root again and will produce new shoots again. It can be too grow from seeds. It grows up quickly when it is often watered. But san pedro cactus can survive however without water for years even produce new sprouts.
